I've been super busy lately photographing commercial gigs for national companies as well as weddings, portraits and engagement sessions.  Thought I would share some sample wedding bouquets I recently photographed.  I think they turned out nicely. :o)

Andrea + Earl | Portrait Session

Here are some of my favorite images from Andrea and Earl's 10 year anniversary portrait session. It seems like yesterday when I photographed their wedding. I love how they wanted to have the portrait session held at the Suspension Bridge in San Diego ... the exact place they went to on their first date. Cheers to you both and happy anniversary!!! You guys ROCK!

Roberto + Nora | Engagement Session

Here are some of my favorite images from Rob and Nora's Engagement Session.  The three of us had so much fun on the Hornblower Dinner Cruise and the San Diego Bay was such a lovely backdrop.  It was such a pleasure photographing Rob and Nora, as they are one of the coolest and sweetest couples you'll meet.  I am looking forward to seeing them soon for margaritas and appetizers!

HAPPY 123RD BIRTHDAY YOSEMITE

Today is Yosemite's 123rd birthday.  Aside from the politics, it is nice that the park can have a day without cars and pollution.  A day for the birds and animals to cross the roads. A day for the park to breath and exist in it's natural, undisturbed splendor.  Imagine what it would sound like.  Happy Birthday Yosemite, you're AMAZING!!!

IT'S A SMALL WORLD AFTER ALL

What are the odds?  Friday, I photographed a couple, Andrea and Earl, on their ten year wedding anniversary.  I had photographed their special day ten years prior. As I was waiting for them to arrive at the location, the Suspension Bridge in San Diego, CA, another couple walked by me with their dog and coincidentally, they were newlyweds whos' wedding I had just photographed last month – Talk about a small world.

Helen Montgomery-Drysdale (1930-2013)

Helen Montgomery Drysdale, 83, world renowned photographer, born February 27, 1930, died at home at 10:40 AM June 24, 2013, surrounded by friends and her photographs.  I met Helen in 1996 and she quickly became my friend and mentor.  We collaborated together on my first major exhibit in 1996.  I have so many fond memories of hanging out with her at her home in Del Mar.  She used to tell the best stories about her time working with and photographing the Hollywood greats.  She loved black-and white film photography.  She was extremely witty and had a wonderful sense of humor.  My life is richer for knowing her.  Helen, you will be missed.  

A memorial service and tribute showing of her work will be held on August 17th, 5-7 PM at the Artist’s Space, Southfair, Jimmy Durante Blvd, Del Mar, CA. 

Contributions in her memory can be sent to the Drysdale Legacy Fund, 693 Orchid Lane, Del Mar, CA 92014 for the purpose of archiving Helen’s extensive volume of work.

She is survived by her dear friend and life partner, Dayna Carroll.

Are handmade greeting cards really worth it?

We think so! We don’t think of our fine art greeting cards and box sets as simply “greeting cards” …rather, each and every greeting card and box set of greeting cards is seen as a handmade work-of-art. What better way to tell someone you care by sending him or her a unique handmade work of art!


The handmade greeting cards and box sets seem expensive …

We believe our greeting cards and box sets are competitively priced. If you walk into a greeting card store or pharmacy, you’ll find many of the mass-produced and somewhat impersonal greeting cards priced at $3 or $4 on average. While our cards are $5.95 on average, they are also completely handmade and signed by the artist. All materials used are of the highest quality and are acid-free.

About the Artist

For years, Kelly Fitzgerald has been photographing the Hawaiian Islands.  She began this series of work largely out of a desire to preserve a beauty still largely unhampered by commercial development.  Her photographs have appeared in numerous exhibits in various art galleries around the world.  Her work has won several awards including The Golden Light Award and the IPA Lucie Award.  Prints are available as archival open edition Type C prints and Metal prints.
